America History – Who Deserves Credit?
History is a subject that can be boring and tedious, but is definitely not for the easily bored. Learning American history can lead to an interesting and thorough study of the many facets of our great nation. There are many excellent resources on the internet that provide detailed information about American history. There are also many books and periodicals that can be purchased to learn more about the important events and people in this eventful nation’s past.
For example, George Washington is commonly recognized as the first US president. Many people also know him as Thomas Jefferson’s great rival and as the commander of the Continental Army in the revolutionary war. However, a good place to start understanding American history is by learning about the presidency itself.
George Washington served two terms as the first president of the United States. As such, he was also the first president of the US. While serving as the first president of the United States, Washington had many significant achievements and major successes and these made him an exceptional leader and commander.
Many other people of note during this time were also notable Americans. Two individuals that come to mind immediately are John Adams and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Both of whom also happened to be popular figures at the time of their service as president.
Of course, some might argue that the US was led into the Second World War due to an act of war by the British. However, many Americans blame the Germans for starting the war. In fact, Germany and Japan did start the conflict, which ended up with the atomic bomb being dropped on Japan. A strong nationalistic sense was also a significant part of why the US was able to win this struggle. Some historians have even pointed to the US not being completely prepared for the World War. Nevertheless, after a tremendous victory, the country entered the Second World War and would later sign the unconditional surrender treaty.

Many of the names of Americans are motted down in a very interesting manner in the Bill of Rights. To prove this out, just look it up. You will find the name of George Washington at the bottom of the Bill of Rights. If you look up any U.S. President, you will see that they are listed there, too.
You might be surprised to know that our very own Thomas Jefferson was a well-known doctor. He is also known as the Father of the Constitution. Our fourth President, John F. Kennedy, was also a doctor before he became a popular politician. Jefferson was also a prominent teacher. He spent a large part of his early life teaching in a school called Monticello. It is now named Thomas Jefferson Monticello.
There is a popular children’s book called Dora the Explorer that features a character by the same name. So if you enjoyed Dora the Explorer when you were a kid, you’ll be happy to know that Dora the Explorer is based on an American cartoon series. The series features a young girl named Boots. She is shown to be an avid explorer, and she is often shown reading to her friends or playing with animals.
No discussion of America history would be complete without mentioning the men who came before us. Some of these would be John Fisher, who made a claim for American royalty; Sam Adams, a well-known writer and activist; George Washington, the first President of the United States; and William Tell, an English pirate. No discussion of American history would be complete without mentioning some of the most popular men from our history. We owe them thanks to many of our forefathers.
