All About the History of the United States
When one wants to make a good study of American history, it is imperative to be well prepared. It would be a real travesty if one did not understand enough about the major events and people who have impacted our nation’s past. Not only that, but it can be very overwhelming when trying to take in all the information. Therefore, we suggest having some basic knowledge about the subject, but not so much that you become overwhelmed.
We will begin with the birth of America. It seems like such an unlikely start to such a huge, evolving nation. However, it actually was. The Mayflower, Plymouth Rock and other early settlers actually set off on what would become the first leg of the American revolution.
Our beginning lesson is the Bill of Rights. There are many people who feel this was the foundation for the freedom that we enjoy today. Others think it was the catalyst for the Civil War. It certainly sparked a lot of argument.
Next, we will examine the First World War. This war changed the face of the world forever. As the fighting continued into the 1930s, the world would face another massive economic and social turmoil. Learning about this early history is extremely important, especially today.
Then, consider the Second World War. Millions were killed. Some say it was necessary, others decry the use of depleted uranium during the Gulf War. There have been many arguments over how good the Second World War was, but there is no debating the fact that it changed the world forever.
It is important to note that not every single American history event is as great as the previous one. Many great Americans, some of our country’s most notable leaders, did not live through those times. Still, by looking at those around us, we can better appreciate all they have done. Through that understanding, we can develop a better appreciation for our forebears and learn from their mistakes.
One of the most important aspects of this history is education. As Americans, we should be eager to learn. Not only is that part of our personal growth, but it helps guide us in the future. It is important to fully understand any situation and how it came to pass. Through education, we are better prepared to make the decisions that need to be made. We become better citizens, ready to embrace the world in its many guises.
Finally, we must remember that while much of the history of the United States is dark, we do not have to dwell on that darkness. There are many ways to learn about and explore our past. By reading books, learning online, and visiting museums, we can discover much about our past. The past can teach us who we are and what we are made of.
In summary, it is important to remember that America history is a good place to start. It is important to know what is going on, how it came about, and why we are still living it today. There are many different ways to learn. Books, online classes, and museums are only a few of them. The best way, however, is to simply be prepared to learn. Educate yourself!
